“But there is a far deeper problem with the framing of these concerns. The critical problem is not “global inaction” over mass atrocities. It is the opposite: intense western – chiefly US – support for, and complicity in, such atrocities.”
“The US is not helpless in the unfolding genocide. It is actively facilitating it. In fact, Israel’s genocide and ethnic cleansing would be impossible without not just US collusion but active participation.”
“It’s intense US and UK support for atrocities so long as they bolster their global power.”

“On Tuesday I attended a session called by Palestine at the United Nations in Geneva. Over 120 states attended. While the formal session consisted of statements of national position with few surprises, I was able to discuss with a large number of delegates in the corridors why the Genocide Convention has not been activated triggering a reference to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
The answer is now clear to me. It is not that people are worried that a claim of genocide will not be successful at the International Court of Justice. It is that everybody is quite sure it will succeed. There is no respectable argument that this is not a genocide in the terms outlined above.
The problem is that once the ICJ has determined that this is a genocide, it follows that not only are Benjamin Netanyahu and hundreds of senior Israeli officials and military personally liable, but it is absolutely plain that “Genocide Joe” Biden, Rishi Sunak and members of their administrations are also criminally liable for complicity, having provided military support for the genocide.
The International Criminal Court cannot ignore a judgment of genocide from the International Court of Justice and will have no choice but to issue arrest warrants.
A genocide is the worst of crimes. Just how appalling this one is has been shown to the world like never before, through the power of social media.
But to the global 1 percent whose interests rule the world, no number of dead Palestinians makes any real difference to their interests. On the other hand, the ramifications for the international system of wealth concentration, if western political elites start to be held accountable for their crimes, are uncertain and therefore carry more risk.”

“The beautiful land of Taiwan is not available to be rented as their battlefield. We do not welcome the visits of those high-ranking officials who would push Taiwan towards the precipice of war and necessarily sacrifice Taiwan.” Fu highlighted, “for example the visit of Nancy Pelosi last year.”

“America has never been a safe country. But the threat of 2024 is different and anti-American: the sterile grip of the mafia state.
I fear that Americans will accept transnational crime masquerading as government as the natural order of things — instead of following the most reliable road in America, the money trail.
I drive the highways of America like I’m reading its palm, and here is what I predict: Plutocrats will again market the corporate imposition of violent demagoguery as the common man’s cheap thrill. Pundits and politicians will — after decades of institutional corruption and erosion of voting rights — pretend that We, The People, choose our fate.”
“The people will believe what the media tells them they believe.”
“The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. His heart sank as he thought of the enormous power arrayed against him, the ease with which any Party intellectual would overthrow him in debate, the subtle arguments which he would not be able to understand, much less answer. And yet he was in the right! They were wrong and he was right.”
“Actions are held to be good or bad, not on their own merits, but according to who does them. There is almost no kind of outrage – torture, imprisonment without trial, assassination, the bombing of civilians – which does not change its moral color when it is committed by “our” side. The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.”
“The point is that we are all capable of believing things which we know are untrue, and then, when we are finally proved wrong, impudently twisting the facts so as to show that we were right. Intellectually, it is possible to carry on this process for an indefinite time: the only check on it is that sooner or later a false belief bumps up against solid reality, usually on a battlefield.”

“WASHINGTON — More than two-thirds of the U.S. House of Representatives voted in favor of a defense policy bill on Thursday [12-14-2023] that includes a record $886 billion in annual military spending”
“The House backed the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, by 310 to 118, with strong support from Republicans and Democrats. It was more than the two-thirds majority required to pass the measure and send it to the White House for President Joe Biden to sign into law.”
End of quotations. Anyone who believes the utterly immoral “Defense” budget just passed by Congress and signed by President Biden does anything to defend America, is living proof of the Orwellian state of affairs now pervasive in our nation. This “defense” bill serves only to impoverish Americans while ensuring the slaughter of millions of innocents around the globe and destroying what little is left of America’s moral standing in the world community. Our Congress and President are complicit in this cold-blooded murder, but the arms industries fund campaigns, the rich get richer, and none of them care.
