ACTION ALERT
ACTION ALERT
2 EVENTS IN WAUSAU
WEEK OF MARCH 20
The first event is at 11 AM, and it takes place at Sean Duffy’s Wausau Office, 208 Grand Ave, 54403, this Tuesday, March 21st.
Rep. Duffy, and the House Republicans are set to vote on the American Health Care Act (AHCA) sometime next week. We would like express opposition to this replacement of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, as it will block access to affordable healthcare for over 22 million Americans, make the cost of healthcare even higher for the elderly, and raise costs on those with pre-existing conditions. We are asking folks to sign the sign-in sheet with Duffy’s staff and say that they oppose the AHCA. Then join us for a short rally in front of his office. Please do not park by his office.
The second event applies to all who care about the issue of a lack of affordable housing for low-income populations.
In Wausau, the Annabelle Apartments could possibly be leveled for a Kwik Trip. This apartment complex is home to 40+ people. It is on a month-to-month basis, which is hard to find. Many of the people living at Annabelle Apartments were homeless before being able to set up residence there. Apartments cost from $280-320 per month according to the residents that were interviewed. We would like there to be a presence from community members at the Plan Commission meeting at Wausau City Hall, this Tuesday, March 21st at 5 pm. This will be a time merely to be present, and likely not to speak. The City Council meeting addressing this issue will be on March 28th.
