HOW CAN WE SUPPORT WISCONSIN PUBLIC SCHOOLS?

ATTEND THE SUMMER SUMMIT ON AUGUST 23

By WIS. PUBLIC EDUCATION NETWORK

TUESDAY, AUGUST 23

8:30 A.M.

WAUWATOSA, WISCONSIN

We need you to help us make our Summer Summit the education event of the year. This is our opportunity to come together to connect, learn, and strategize.

What can we do where we live to support Wisconsin public schools? What can we do together as a statewide coalition? How can we maximize our impact? What’s happening right now that we need most to understand and connect around?

At the Summer Summit, you will get all these answers, plus an opportunity to hear from our fantastic lineup of experts and advocates, and the national leaders in supporting public education that we’ve invited to be our keynote speakers: John and Tashia Morgridge and Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II.

But in order for this day to be a success, we need you and your team to be there.

Our goal is to have every single education advocacy group, every school district, and every community represented at the Summit.

As of today, we still have plenty of availability but our big public push for registration starts in a few days — please do your part by making sure this event is sold out by August 23! Let’s send the message as loudly as we can: Wisconsin is UNITED in support of public schools!

This one-day conference brings together partners in the Wisconsin Public Education Network (WPEN) and anyone else interested in supporting Wisconsin’s public schools – this year, Rev. Dr. William Barber will join us.

Rev, Barber is President of North Carolina’s NAACP and has led that state’s Moral Monday movement (a movement he said he patterned after the protests in Madison). He is an amazing speaker. He has rearranged his schedule to appear in Wauwatosa August 23 because he appreciates what is happening here in Wisconsin with our grassroots efforts to protect public education.

This event is open to everyone, so please consider coming – and please share this information with others who might be interested. The goal is to “have every single education advocacy group, every school district, and every community represented at the Summit.”
