DEMOCRACY AWAKENING AND DEMOCRACY SPRING
The Wisconsin Grassroots Network (WGN) has endorsed the upcoming events of Democracy Awakening & Democracy Spring taking place in Wash DC in April 2016.
We wanted to pass on this information so that you are aware of this should you want to become involved or even just follow what is happening. Some members have signed up and will be joining the movement next month in DC.

A first-of-its-kind gathering in our nation’s capital is putting ‘We the People’ back in charge of OUR democracy.
Democracy Awakening — organized by Public Citizen, the NAACP, the Communications Workers of America, Greenpeace USA, People For the American Way, the Democracy Initiative and nearly 200 other allies — will bring thousands of Americans to Washington, D.C., from April 16-18 for a long weekend of workshops, trainings, rallies, music, advocacy and direct action in support of voting rights and money in politics reform.
The very essence of our democracy is in peril. We simply cannot wait any longer.
Buses, vans and trains are being organized in cities up and down the East Coast to help you get to Democracy Awakening.
Be there in our nation’s capital when democracy awakens.
It’s time to take mass nonviolent action on a historic scale to save our democracy. This April, in Washington, D.C., we will demand a Congress that will take immediate action to end the corruption of big money in our politics and ensure free and fair elections in which every American has an equal voice.
The campaign will begin on April 2nd with a march from the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia to Washington, D.C. where thousands will gather to reclaim the US Capitol in a powerful, peaceful, and massive sit-in that no one can ignore.
Over 2,000 people have already pledged to be involved between April 11th-18th in what will be one of the largest civil disobedience actions in a generation. Together we can open the door to reforms previously considered impossible and reclaim our democracy. Join us!
