CRITICAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN

Elected Congressional officials must act soon in order for CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program) and several child nutrition programs to continue beyond this year.

CHIP provides affordable health insurance coverage to millions of kids in the US, and over 150,000 in Wisconsin. Thanks in part to CHIP, 93 percent of children in America have health coverage with low premiums, deductibles, and the preventive care children need.

Nutrition programs like school breakfast and lunch and WIC provide nourishing meals to low- and moderate-income children both in and out of school.Baby being measured These vital programs help parents meet basic needs for their families, allowing their kids to be healthy so they can grow, play and learn.

Together we can provide a better life for our children and help parents care for and support their families.  Isn’t this what we should be – an America that works for all our children?

Contact US Representative Duffy (855-585-4251) and US Senators Johnson (202-224-5323) and Baldwin (202-224-5653) to ask them to support reauthorization and funding of these critical programs for four years – not two years as the House recently passed – to allow all our children to have the deserved security of continued health care and nutrition programs.
