COOPERATION 106

cooperation [ koh-op-uh–rey-shuhn ]

an act or instance of working or acting together for a common purpose or benefit

mutually beneficial interaction among organisms [nations] living in a limited area [planet Earth]

 

It was back in November of 2024 that I wrote COOPERATION 105 in this series. There has been so much turmoil in the ensuing 3 months that it has been hard to imagine any sort of cooperation in the U.S. or globally. Yet the urgency for cooperation has only grown – in the U.S. and globally.

 

Donald Trump, of course, moved into the White House this past January. It would be an understatement to call the first 6 weeks of his presidency “disruptive.” We have witnessed extraordinary changes, domestically and internationally. It will take years for the full story to be written. Indeed, the story is titled “History,” and it is filled with chapters that never end. Tragically, it is this book of “History” that is almost completely missing from virtually all mainstream media, especially in the United States and Western Europe. It would not be an exaggeration to call most of what we hear and read, propaganda. It is the inevitable result of allowing a half dozen, self-serving, rich corporations or individuals to own all the mainstream media.

 

We are living through an unprecedentedly precarious moment in the book of “History.” Yet it is a moment of unprecedented opportunity to bring the world community together. A moment of great danger, a moment of great hope. On a historic, a synergetic scale, far beyond the control of individuals or nations, it appears the Universe wants humanity to survive, to prosper, to cooperate. An act, a belief, of great faith.

 

It is asking much to take the time to listen, to truly listen even when emotionally difficult, to Professor Jeffrey Sachs’ address to members of the European Union Parliament this past February 19th. It is certainly also an address to us, the people of the United States. Sachs has a personal affiliation with the book of “History” second to none. In a time of danger, his message is hope:
