VOTE FOR JOANNE KLOPPENBURG
Justice Rebecca Bradley, appointed by Governor Walker three times--to circuit court, appellate court, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court--in the last three years, is running for a 10-year term on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Here are some reasons why Wisconsinites should vote for her opponent, Judge JoAnne Kloppenburg.
In 1992, Bradley, then known as Rebecca Grassl, authored a column and letters to the editor at Marquette University that were extremist, hateful and intolerant of people different from her or who voted for candidates she did not support. Bradley obviously ...
DEAR DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE
DEAR DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE
First, permit me to introduce myself. My name is John Spiegelhoff and I am a middle class voter in the Midwest. I think it is appropriate to inform you that I have voted Democratic since as long as I have been a registered voter. I have financially supported Democratic candidates mostly at the state and local levels. Since-really-all politics are local. Or so I have heard.
So with that in mind, I wish to respond to your survey but not on the mind numbing pre-fill form that you sent me along with the obligatory “send us some ...

BLUE JEAN NATION REVIVAL
BLUE JEAN NATION REVIVAL
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20
NEENAH, WISCONSIN
Blue Jean Nation has no interest in holding just another boring political convention with endless speeches. What we’ve got in mind is more like a New England-style town hall meeting – only with a twist inspired by digital-age social media. A “town hall tweeting” you might say, complete with a hearing where everyone who attends is invited to give oral “tweestimony” on how to fix the broken political system in 140 characters or less, with the best statements tweeted out live on Blue Jean ...
WHAT HAPPENS IN AN IOWA CAUCUS?
(Katy Harle lives in Bettendorf, Iowa)
What a night! It was exciting to see such a great turnout at our local Democratic caucus, people of all ages, including some parents who brought their elementary and middle-school-age children to watch and learn. The caucus was to begin promptly at 7 p.m.
Lucky for us we arrived early and checked in within minutes. About 6:35 p.m. the line was very long. Evidently a lot of people came who needed to register; some of us were already registered. We carry our registration card with us. Our registration to vote allows us to attend ...

JUDGE KLOPPENBURG FOR SUPREME COURT JUSTICE
Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge JoAnne Kloppenburg is running for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She faces a primary challenge on Tuesday, February 16, with general election on April 5.
Kloppenburg received a B.A. in Russian studies from Yale University. After receiving a Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University in 1976, she spent several years in the Peace Corps as a rural development planner in Botswana. Upon return to the United States, she established the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children in upstate New York ...
FAIR ELECTIONS PROJECT
Our current gerrymandered legislative districts are the “worst partisan gerrymanders in modern American history.” In many cases, our votes in such a district are meaningless.
In the last election, Democratic votes outnumbered Republican votes. Yet two-thirds of the State Assembly seats are held by Republicans. Something is drastically wrong.
Here is good news. The Fair Elections Project has been launched to oppose partisan gerrymandering. The Project aims to ask the courts “to implement a standard that can measure when there’s too much partisan gerrymanderi...
